The San Kiang Charitable Association upholds the principles of **"compassion, respect for the elderly, care for the young, providing shelter for the young, and a final resting place for the elderly."** To support its members, the association has purchased five burial sites: *Washington, Rose, Changshan, Liji, and Greenwood Cemetery.* Four of these sites are already sold out, leaving only *Greenwood Cemetery* available for purchase. As a benefit for members, this cemetery is offered at a low price of **$1,000 per plot**, ensuring that members have a secure resting place in their later years.  

 

Since its establishment, the San Kiang cemetery has remained dedicated to serving its members by providing a stable and reliable burial ground. For nearly 50 years, the price per plot has been maintained at **$1,000**. However, due to rising costs associated with land maintenance, management, and operations, the current price is no longer sufficient to sustain long-term upkeep.  

 

To ensure the association's continued legacy, the **San Kiang Charitable Association Board of Directors has decided, after careful deliberation, to adjust the cemetery price to $1,500 per plot starting from September 1, 2025**. This adjustment aims to secure the sustainable management of the cemetery while continuing to provide quality services to members. To allow ample time for planning, a six-month transition period has been set: **until August 31, 2025, eligible members can still purchase burial plots at the original price of $1,000 per plot. From September 1, 2025, the price will be $1,500 per plot.**  

 

#### **Eligibility for Purchasing a Burial Plot:**  

    - San Kiang burial plots are **exclusively available** to official members of the *San Kiang Charitable Association in New York*. **Non-members are not eligible to purchase plots.**  

    - New members must have been part of the association for at least **three years** before they can purchase a burial plot. If a new member has not yet reached three years of membership, they are **not** eligible to purchase a plot. However, **if a new member passes away within three years of joining, this restriction will be waived, and they may purchase a burial plot immediately.**  

   - Burial plots **cannot be transferred privately.** The association may assist with transfers, but a **$500 per plot transfer fee** will be charged.  

 

#### **Payment Methods for Purchasing a Burial Plot:**  

1. **Cash payments are not accepted.**  

2. **Payment by check is allowed, but the purchaser must ensure sufficient funds in their bank account.** If a check bounces, any penalties incurred will be the responsibility of the purchaser.  

3. **Money Orders** are accepted as a payment method.  

 

#### **Member Obligations:**  

- After purchasing a burial plot, **members must continue paying their association membership fees** to maintain their membership status.  

 

#### **Violation Policy:**  

    - If a member **stops paying membership fees** or **withdraws from the association** after purchasing a burial plot, the association **will not** issue documentation to the funeral home or cemetery at the time of their passing.  

    - If the deceased's family wishes to obtain documentation from the association, they **must** pay all outstanding membership fees according to the fee standards of the year of death.  

    - If the deceased had a **complete record of membership fee payments**, the total outstanding amount must be settled.  

    - If there is **no record of membership fee payments** due to long-term withdrawal from the association, the **outstanding fees will be calculated retroactively from the year the burial plot was purchased up to the year of death**, based on the membership fee standard of the year of death. The total must be paid in a lump sum.  

 

These regulations are designed to protect the interests of the **San Kiang Charitable Association** and its members, ensuring that burial plot purchases remain consistent with long-term membership status.
