Article 1: The purpose of establishing the San Kiang Youth Scholarship is to promote the spirit of diligence and studiousness of the Chinese nation, encourage members and their children to strive for progress, and enable the second generation of members to integrate into mainstream American society.
The San Kiang Youth Scholarship is specially designed to commend the advanced, motivate the backward, and encourage the descendants of members to study hard.
Article 2: Eligibility: Applicants are limited to the children of members of our association; only the children of members who have been in the association for one year can apply for the scholarship. If a member's child receives the scholarship and the member withdraws from the association, their child will no longer be eligible to apply.
Article 3: Evaluation Scope: Divided into four groups for primary school, middle school, high school, and university respectively.
Article 4: Evaluation Criteria:
1. For the university group, a GPA of 3.5 or above is required. For the university group, applicants can apply if their grades in any one year (two semesters) from freshman to senior year meet the standard. An additional 0.2 will be added for Ivy League schools.
2. For the high school group, an SAT score of 1400 or above is required.
3. Elementary 5th and 6th grade, and middle-schools 8th Grade, based on the results of the statewide exam, school score supplemental, school score 90 above
4. Scholarship will be ranked among qualified applicants based on their merits. The first, second, third places and excellence awards will be awarded.
Article 5: Amount and Distribution of the Scholarship: The Scholarship Committee has the right to determine the number of award-winning students and the amount of the scholarship based on the financial situation of the scholarship for the current year.
Article 6: The principle is to encourage with spirit as the main focus and provide material rewards as a secondary consideration. All award recipients will receive a certificate and be commended in newspapers.
Article 7: Application Procedures and Submission Deadlines:
1. Obtain the scholarship application form from the association office or download online, fill it out, sign it, and attach a recent photo (1.5x2 inches).
2. Attach a copy of the state examination, SAT, or GPA transcript for the current or previous semester.
3. Application deadline: From October 1st to November 31st each year, the application form, transcript, and photo should be submitted to the association secretary before the deadline. Late submissions will not be accepted.
Article 8: Evaluation Procedure:
The Scholarship Committee will review the qualifications, transcripts, and submission deadlines of the applicants, and then determine the ranking and number of award recipients according to the evaluation criteria.
Article 9: These amended measures will be discussed and determined by the Scholarship Committee and then submitted to the association's board of directors for approval before officially being implemented.
